The first step is upgrading the thermostat, which helps keep coolant temperatures at normal levels -- especially after hard driving -- and helps protect your engine against the destructive effects of heat-induced detonation.

Crucial's popular Summer Cooling Special packages our 160* Coolsafe Thermostat, 1.4 bar radiator cap, and Samco silicone radiator hoses together in an amazingly-priced kit! We highly recommend the use of Redline Water Wetter (or equivalent product) and a 30/70 or 25/75 coolant to distilled water ratio. If it gets quite cold in the winter where you live, simply switch back to a 50/50 coolant/water ratio. There is no need to swap out the thermostat.

Samco hoses, some of the finest silicone hoses available for your car, help reject heat leak into the engine bay to reduce underhood temperatures, while offering increased burst strength and crack resistance vs the OEM hoses.
