Manifolds
It all starts with the OEM cast iron exhaust manifold elbows from a 2002-2005
WRX or 2004-2007 STI (they're identical). We then port the manifolds all the way
through to increase the interior diameter and smooth the surface. This means
vastly increased exhaust flow with less turbulence! After porting is complete,
the manifold elbows go through
our famous thermal
barrier coating process to keep that heat inside of the exhaust where it
belongs, giving you quicker turbo spool-up, better response, lower underhood
temperatures, and more power. Clearly this is an improvement vs totally stock
OEM manifolds, but why choose Crucial's P&P&C manifolds over aftermarket
stainless headers?

OEM manifolds mean perfect fitment and extreme reliability.
Cracked stainless headers are a big problem, but these iron manifolds are
practically indestructible!

Clean, deep exhaust note. Thick cast iron doesn't resonate like
thin steel piping, and you end up with a cleaner, deeper exhaust tone vs. the
metallic raspy tones that typically come from 'headers.'

Thanks to the great heat retention and short piping length,
spool-up and response are almost always significantly better than w/ aftermarket
headers. Also due to the heat retention and our coating, you can expect MUCH
lower underhood temperatures vs headers (lower intake temps, lower intercooler
temps) and lower oil temperatures.

HP and TQ numbers are competitive with aftermarket headers! It
depends on your setup and your tune, but on average the numbers are extremely
close. Some cars make a couple less ponies, some a couple more. But... it's
almost always the case w/ the P&P&C manifolds that boost comes on sooner so you
have a broader torque band.

Stealth. The OEM heat shields fit right back on so visually
there is no difference whatsoever vs stock manifolds.

P&P&C Manifolds set records! Our manifolds (and downpipe, racepipe,
thermostat, and springs, actually!) are on the 2006 STI that still holds the
North American record for quickest and fastest 1/4 mile time (11.7x) on the
stock turbo. Our P&P&C manifolds are also on the second quickest and
fastest stock turbo STI! Besides these and other drag racing cars, Crucial's
P&P&C manifolds can be found on rally cars competing in the Targa Newfoundland,
road racing cars competing all over the US and Canada, and, of course, on street
cars. How
does it work??? We send you a pair of finished P&P&C
manifold elbows. You install them on your car. Then you ship your stock elbows
back to us. That's it!
CORE FEE: Built into the price
below is a $100 core fee. This fee gets refunded in full as soon as your stock
manifold elbows arrive back here. PLEASE return your elbows (and preferably in a
somewhat timely fashion). It is the only way we can make an exchange program
like this work.
Please note we do NOT accept 06-08 WRX or any year Forester XT manifolds!
These models received narrower manifolds with different bends and they
simply do not work as well. If you have one of these models and are interested
in P&P&C of your manifolds, please contact us. But do NOT purchase the manifolds
